My name is Renato, 25 years old and I'm from Brazil, more specifically from Belo Horizonte, a place where AJ and Mary have visited and their lecture was filmed and posted on youtube. But let me tell you guys a little more about myself, and then about how I got to know about the existance of Divine Truth.
I lived all my life on the same city, I have real loving parents that fought a lot to give me access to many wonderful things - education, food, love, travelling. I didn't have many issues in my childhood, and I'm grateful for it. When I was younger, I looked upon God as a lie. I would actually think anyone who was religious was, in fact, misguided or tricked by other people... Good thing that changed.
When I was on college studying Philosophy, I went through many different belief sistems, some with god, some without. While I was at it, my mind expanded to new ideas and I started to find myself wondering about what was beyond this physical world. I found many ways to experience what was beyond the 'commom' world, not all of them healthy - most of them against Divine Truth. Eventually, I learned meditation and found a psychologist to help me out solve some problems.
I've been through many different religions and belief systems, like I said, but few actually felt to be true to me. Actually, Divine Truth was the second to trigger my feelings of "That's true". I learned about it from my psychologist, as she's a very spiritual person and we talk about this things. She sent me the video on youtube mentioned on the first paragraph, and now here I am.
Without knowing it's part of the Divine Truth, I've been working on feeling my emotions and letting them flow, there's still much to do though - obviously. I've always had a difficult time about feeling anger. I got depressed when I was around 15 years old and I passed some years thinking really low of myself. Many bad self-judging thoughts accompany me since then, with less and less power, but still holding me back from being more loving.
