Splitting Posts

Hi Guys

I was just testing out how to split topics and use the various tools about the place.

Can I split part of a post and take it to another place?
I could take a whole post but couldn't work out how to take part of one.

What I want to do is take Sage's response: Fri Nov 20 where she says a little bit in reply to a post and then goes onto speaking about some spirit stuff she is experiencing. I felt that half her post would be good to be placed in the Eye Can See you topic but I couldn't work out how to just take part of the post. Link below to see what I am referring to.

viewtopic.php?f=39&t=568

Any help in 'how to' would be most appreciated.

Thanks for this opportunity and I look forward to learning more!

Love
xo

Oh, I had an idea, maybe I am answering my own question here, but do I edit the post, cut and copy the bit I want to move and then paste it under the new topic?

It seems to me I could do this, just checking it is correct before going ahead. Actually I am going to try it out myself.

Testing to see if what I want to do works....

Yes it did! Yay. If there is a more 'correct' way to do it let me know.

Otherwise I will do it that way.

Hey Eloisa

Great to see you experimenting with the Mod tools!

Yep you are correct. You can move a complete post but not a part of a post. The only way you can do it is as you have spoke about (clicking edit and then cut, copy and paste the part of their post and start a new thread in a different section of the forum).

I reckon it would be cool that when you do this, you leave a line or two just explaining what you have done and the reasons why in the new thread (for the benefit of the other forum members and guests) so they know what's going on!

I agree with moving the part of Sage's post into either the "Eye Can See You" section or maybe the "Addictions" section of the forum as it is another topic of discussion that others may benefit from seeing clearly rather than being "hidden" in a thread relating to prayer.

Cheers
Nicky

Thanks Nicky.

I think that Sage's one would go great under 'addictions' actually.
And thanks for reminding me about putting a little post about why I move it or do what I do. I noticed you doing this and thought it was a very good idea.

Thanks again,

Eloisa
