Kindness
Kindness has the wings of an angel
It gives freely of itself
It throws away any of its own pain and worries it may have
Just for that moment
So it can offer itself fully to another
It needs no witnesses, no praise, no payback, no reward
Kindness is just that, kindness
Simple, loving, straight and true
It is steadfast in its quality
Generous in its quantity
A deep consideration and care for the plight of another
Kindness is a quality of love,
When developed in the soul, it cannot help but act
It does not shy away, or wait for permission
But rather, seeks opportunities to show itself
And proclaims, “I am here for you and with you”
Acting in kindness is a prayer in itself
It is a visible declaration and testament of the faith from within
That it is always a worthy act, no matter the circumstance
No matter how big or small
Kindness holds no prejudices
It is a conviction in love and equality
Kindness strikes the sweetest chord
Its music echoes throughout the universe
Until it reaches the ear and heart of the Lord
Ever attuned to its beautiful tones
To see one soul amidst its own pain and suffering
Offer kindness to another soul
Time and heaven stand still, but for that moment
Paying utmost respect for the sanctity of such an act.
Heaven does all that it can
To see that the desire of the giver
And the effects upon the recipient are realised
The Lord’s own heart moved, personally seeing to it that it is not just so,
But that it goes beyond any intended or hoped outcome.
The response from God, evident for all to see – infinite lovingkindness
Within it, lies a gentle whisper and promise which declares:
